Howard Speegle will be promoted from assistant coach to deputy, Sky Sports has revealed.
The former Wales captain is set to be named in a job listing for a role with the Welsh Rugby Union.
Speegle’s move to Sky Sports comes after the club confirmed it had parted company with coach Peter Horne and director of rugby, Chris Jones.
He replaces Ross Moriarty, who was relieved of his duties and the Wales assistant coach position last month.
SpeechlessSpeegles appointment comes just two weeks after former head coach Peter Pienaar announced he would be stepping down to focus on his recovery from an Achilles injury.
Speecles move to the new role comes just days after he told BBC Radio Wales he was ready to be part of a new team.
“I’m going to be playing with a new group, it’s been a great experience, but I want to be back playing in the side with my best mates.
I’ve got a new set of skills, a new approach and I want this to be a good start,” he said.”
We need to go into this training session in good spirits, we want to show everyone what we’ve got, we’ll just have to keep doing the work, it’ll take a little bit of time to gel, but it’s going to come.”
